Summer League 2024

Registration is now open for Cache Valley Ultimate summer leagues. You don’t need to find a team. Register and you will be placed on a team. Play begins on Wednesday/Thursday June 5th-6th and will go through July 24th-25th.

Registration closes on Friday, May 31st. Emails will be sent out with team information on Monday, June 3rd.

Youth training/play – Wednesday or Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm for those going into 3rd grade through 5th grade. This group will learn the different skills of ultimate and of basic athleticism. Beginner 6th graders are also welcome in this group but may feel more comfortable in the middle school league.

Middle school league – Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm for those going into 6th grade through 8th grade. This group is allowed to claim 1 friend to play with. Players will be divided evenly onto teams and captains will be selected to help guide their teams. Beginner 9th graders are also welcome in this group but may feel more comfortable in the high school league.

High school league – Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm for those going into 9th grade through 12th grade. This group is allowed to claim 1 friend to play with. Captains will draft players onto their teams. Beginner to intermediate seniors who just graduated are welcome to play here also.

Competitive adult league on Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm for advanced high school players and adults. This group is allowed to claim 1 friend to play with. Captains will draft players onto their teams.

Recreation league on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm for all high school through adult ages. This league is a great place to learn, have fun and just play a little bit more relaxed. Players can choose groups of friends/family to play with and captains will help divide up teams in an effort to keep them balanced.

Utah State Men and Women programs finished their seasons. The men added coach Eric Holt to the program and had close games against the top teams in the country. Skyler Jones will continue to coach the women’s team next season and will be adding several of the top girls players from the local high schools, including Britta Israelsen and Breesen Hoehne.

The Salt Lake Shred have started their second season and are 3 and 0 so far. They started the season with an exciting win over visiting Washington D.C. Come join the fun at their next game! The Shred feature 5 Cache Valley players, Luke Yorgason, Chad Yorgason, McKay Yorgason, Tony Mounga and Jonny Hoffman. Ben Hoffman is out for the season after tearing his other ACL in December.

State High School and Middle School Tournament

The state tournament ended this past weekend with Green Canyon boys and girls teams both winning the championships as well as the Cache Valley Scorch middle school program also winning the title.

In the Girls Division, Green Canyon took 1st, Chick Flicks, 4th and Sky View 8th.

In Division 1 boys, Green Canyon took 1st, Sky View finished in 5th place, Logan in 10th, and Green Canyon B in 11th.

In Division 2, Ridgeline finished 2nd, Mountain Crest in 3rd, Sky View Gold in 8th, Green Canyon in 9th, Sky View Blue in 16th and Logan in 18th.

In Middle School Cache Valley Scorch 1 took 1st place, Scorch 2 took 4th, Scorch 3 took 5th and Scorch 4 took 8th place.

High School National Invite

Green Canyon boys and girls have also been invited to compete at the High School National Invite on June 7th and 8th in Rockford, Illinois. Congratulations to them.

Cullen Clark was the official photographer at the High School State Tournament and we’re grateful for his many years of support in the community. Here he captures the Green Canyon boys and girls championship teams as well as the Cache Valley Scorch middle school state champions.

Dave Hoffman will be hosting trainings twice a week throughout the summer. This will be on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. The focus will be on individual skills and game development for the first 2 hours and then training to build athleticism for the last hour. The cost is $300 per individual and will go from June through July. It will take place at Meadow View Park in North Logan. Utah State will be hosting a summer camp over a few days later this summer. We will send out details as they become available.

Thank you for your efforts to keep Spirit of the Game at the center of your play on the field and your support from the sidelines and at home. The best thing we can do to advance the Spirit of the Game is to hold ourselves and our teammates accountable to its principles. When other players and teams see us holding ourselves accountable, it builds trust and allows them to let their guard down also.

If we focus on how we play the game, instead of the outcome of the game, we create a culture that empowers us to have healthier interactions with others outside of the game also.
