I was introduced to frisbee by my best friend, Lucy Leary, a couple of months before my freshman year. So when freshman year came around and we found out that Logan High School did not have an Ultimate Frisbee club, we were all in to start one. The first tournament we played in was in the spring of 2019 for the girls league. Let’s just say playing savage and being all brand new to the sport was undoubtedly a challenging experience. From then on out, the boys outnumbered the girls so Lucy, Ali Haws and I played with the Green Canyon girls during their pre-season before Covid hit. We then played with Chick Flicks for the next two years and the Logan boys team took off with me still monitoring their progress of course. Seeing the Logan Crimson team take 1st in the D2 divisionals this year was definitely a proud mama bear moment for me.
I love how frisbee can make anyone feel at home. From the positive environment to the friendships that will last a lifetime, Frisbee has become something I’m really passionate about. I love the constant opportunities to play frisbee. Whenever I tell my mom, “This is the last game of the season,” she always rebuttals, “No it isn’t! You will just start up again in two weeks.” She isn’t wrong, haha. Frisbee is an all year sport for me and I love it. Frisbee is life!
