What her coach says: …always has a smile on her face when she is on the field!

How did you learn about ultimate frisbee?
I learned about Ultimate Frisbee from my best friend Lucy around my middle school years. Her parents were part of the USU team and I would sometimes go and throw with them.

What is your favorite memory with ultimate frisbee?
My favorite ultimate frisbee memory would probably be when Logan High attended the fall state tournament before covid hit. We were able to really bond as a team and had really great synergy when playing and were able to recognize everybody’s strengths.

What has ultimate frisbee taught you?
Ultimate has taught me what it means to be a good teammate and have good spirit. It has taught me that everyone has different strengths and weaknesses and that mistakes are learning experiences to grow and learn from.

What do you enjoy most about ultimate?
I love the adrenaline right before the first point. I get so much energy and I’m eager to get on the field and start playing. I also love how everyone is able to laugh about a funny throw or catch afterwards and there is no judgment in it.

Do you prefer offense or defense?
I prefer offense because that’s where I get the most action.
Would you rather throw a score, catch one or block one? I would rather block a score that the other team is trying to make. There’s a lot of satisfaction in doing so and it brings hope to my team that we can still try and score.

Do you prefer backhand or forehand or something else (if it’s another throw, which one)?
I prefer backhand. I have a lot more confidence in it going to where I actually want it to go.
