2023 Indoor Fall League

Fall registration is now open. There’s only a couple of weeks to register! League play starts on Friday, November 3rd and will end on Friday, December 15th. There will be no games on Friday, November 24th.

Middle School games will start at 8:20 and go until 9:20 pm.
The high school/adult league will start at 9:30 and may go until 11:30 pm.

Teams will play at least 2 games per night (or more).

Games will be played at the Hansen Family Sports Complex. There is limited room so please sign up soon if you’re wanting to participate in the high school/adult division.

We are planning on doing 3 vs 3 for both divisions but it may be changed to 5 vs 5, depending on the number of players and space that is needed.

Players may claim 1 other player. Middle school teams will be divided by ability. High school/Adult will hold a draft and captains will choose their teams. The draft will be on Oct. 29th or 30th, depending on the availability of captains.

Roster information and schedules will be sent out on Wednesday, November 1st.

Cache Valley Players in the News

If you run into Breesen Hoehne, Madi Seedall, Nate De Morgan, Sam Nichols or Stella Anhder, be sure to congratulate them on being invited to tryout for U20 Team USA!!

We are currently doing a fundraiser to help lower their travel costs. You can make donations through Venmo to @cachevalleyultimate and you can specify the player to donate to or give a general donation that will be divided between all of them.

All money from CVU discs sales between now and November 18th will be donated to the players as well. We will have discs at the remainder of the league and tournament games and at the indoor league.

Recent Happenings

Aaron Taylor headed up a project to donate money and frisbee supplies to local elementary, middle and high schools. We were able to donate to each of the high schools and several of the middle and elementary schools. We’re grateful for the opportunity to be able to serve the community and also for the support they give us as well. Many schools emphasize the importance of sportsmanship and participating in sports in a healthy environment. Thank you for your role in helping to change the culture of sports.

Katie Radmall recently hosted a free middle school, high school and adult semi-mixed 3 vs 3 tournament for a school project. There was a learn 2 layout clinic before, led by Kylee and Ben Hoffman, and we saw several great layouts throughout the tournament. One player, who did not participate in the learn 2 layout clinic, did injure his shoulder a little. Hope you feel better soon Brigham Radmall 😛

The tournament winners were as follows:
Competitive division – Sponsored by Nike
High school division – Ridgeline High School
Middle school division – Swifties

Spirit of the Game

Sport should be a positive experience for its participants but it’s easy to turn those positives into negatives if we forget the purpose of why we play. Whether you are a player, coach, parent, or spectator, please remember to focus on the more important long term benefits of sport, rather than to get caught up in the short term mindset of winning or losing a game.

It’s great to try and win but it should never be at the expense of your integrity or the rules of the game. The effort and character you play with is more important than the outcome of the game. Players who emphasize winning over playing by the rules, undermine the integrity of the sport. Fairness is a basic yet fundamental principle that we tend to overlook when we prioritize the wrong things.

Separate your worth and identity from the outcome of the game and you’ll find you’re still able to play hard but you’ll have healthier feelings towards your teammates and opponents after wins and losses. Losing is a chance to improve rather than wanting a chance to get back at the other team or feeling like you’re a horrible player. Winning becomes an added bonus to your hard work after a well played game rather than the only reason to play.
